Local Business Tax Return – 2025

The Tax Department of the Mayor’s Office of the City of Debrecen draws entrepreneurs’ attention to the fact that the deadline for submitting local business tax returns and the deadline for advance payments for taxpayers who qualify as small entrepreneurs expires on Monday, 2 June 2025.

Entrepreneurs can only submit their tax returns electronically using the 24HIPAK form provided by NAV, which can be downloaded from the link: https://nav.gov.hu/nyomtatvanyok/letoltesek/nyomtatvanykitolto_programok/nyomtatvanykitolto_programok_nav/24HIPAK.

Primary producers are exceptions to the mandatory electronic administration, who can also submit their returns on paper. The return is considered to have been received by the deadline if it is posted by midnight on Monday, 2 June, or, if submitted electronically, sent by the due date using the General Forms Completion Kit (GFC).

In addition to the above, the Tax Department of the Mayor’s Office of the City of Debrecen asks taxpayers to check the business tax account number before transferring or settling the payment, which is as follows:

Debrecen MJV Municipality Business Tax Collection Account 50435081-10039117.

If possible, use the E-Government Portal’s EFER system, where everyone can settle their tax liability through a credit card transaction. Detailed information on how to use the system is available here:

An important piece of information regarding the payment of taxes and tax advances is that, according to the announcement of MBH Bank, which also manages the tax current accounts of the Municipality of Debrecen, there will be a partial bank holiday on May 30, 2025, and continuous full bank holidays between May 31 and June 2, 2025. Accordingly, the difference between the tax included in the 2024 tax return, the already financially settled tax advance, and the 2025 tax advance of small entrepreneurs paying itemised taxes can be paid without late penalties until midnight on June 3, 2025.

It is advisable to schedule tax payment transactions for the business day before or after bank holidays.
