For one day, on 26 June, just 100 years after its premiere at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, Charlie Chaplin’s unforgettable masterpiece, The Gold Rush, will be screened again nationwide, and also at the Apollo Cinema.
The one-off, worldwide event series started as the featured opening film at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will bring back the classic from the golden age of silent cinema in more than 70 countries at the same time on 26 June.
In the story of Gold Rush, the legendary Tramp tries to make his way in Alaska: alone, vulnerable but with unwavering serenity, he sets out on his quest for gold and love.
This exceptional screening not only pays tribute to this 100-year-old film milestone, but also gives the chance to see Chaplin on screen again and laugh together at the humanity and classic humour of one of the greatest geniuses in cinema history, all in one night only, on 26 June at the Apollo Cinema.
