Increased roadside inspection in the Felsőjózsa area
The renovation works of the collector-distributor lanes and the related junctions on the section of Highway M35 bypassing Debrecen are in progress. The investment is coordinated by the Hungarian Concession Infrastructure Development Private Limited Company (MKIF).
In the current work schedule, which will run from June 20 to July 10, 2025, the section of Main Road 35 heading towards Hajdúböszörmény has been designated as the diversion route to Budapest.
The Municipality of Debrecen has received numerous reports from residents that, despite the posted diversion route signs, drivers often use Sillye Gábor, Elek, Rózsavölgy, and Gönczy Pál streets in Felsőjózsa to access the highway. The number of people not adhering to the weight limit and speeding has increased on the affected roads.
At the initiative of the Municipality of Debrecen, to maintain the peace and safety of residents, the Debrecen Police Department, Debrecen Public Area Supervision, and civilian guards are increasingly checking compliance with the 30 km/h traffic limit and the 3.5-ton weight limit on affected streets.
The Municipality of Debrecen draws the attention of road users to Main Road 35 in the direction of Budapest. Drivers are asked to follow the posted road signs and directional signs.
