15 August, 6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m. Night of the Classics in the city centre
As the traditional opening event of the Flower Carnival festivities, the Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen will once again fill Debrecen’s emblematic venues with classical music this year!
4:30 p.m. Chamber concerts at several points in the city centre
The chamber formations of the Kodály Philharmonic will be visible and audible at several points in the city centre throughout the evening.
9:00 p.m., Ravel’s Stars: Kodály Philharmonic Concert, at Kossuth Square
The highlight of the Night of the Classics is the Kodály Philharmonic’s grand orchestra concert on the main stage set up on Kossuth Square, where, in tribute to the French composer Maurice Ravel.
10:15 p.m. “A Little Night Music”, in the Memorial Garden behind the Great Church
True to tradition, the evening will end with “A Little Night Music”. For those who are looking for a little choral music, the Saint Ephrem Male Choir will be preparing a real musical treat in the Memorial Garden behind the Great Church immediately after the orchestra concert.
The small concerts are free to attend; tickets for the Kossuth Square orchestra concert cost 3,000 HUF. Listening to the large concert outside the seated auditorium is free of charge.

16 August, 6.00 p.m. Vidám Manók Concert (Happy Elves) at Dósa nádor Square
The orchestra, which has been operating since 2010, is visiting Debrecen again, this time to one of the most colourful venues of the Debrecen Flower Carnival!
The orchestra enchants both young and old with cheerful, easy-to-remember melodies and lovely lyrics. The concert not only entertains, but also teaches about friendship, togetherness, and love of nature. The concert is interactive, with children not only being spectators, but also active participants. The event is a perfect family programme on one of the most cheerful afternoons of the carnival week!
16 August 9.00 a.m. – 75th anniversary gala of the Debrecen Folk Ensemble at Kossuth Square
The celebratory show entitled “From Moldavia to Moldavia” is a special, grand dance-music journey through the folk culture of the Hungarian people and nationalities of the Carpathian Basin.
The gala concert is part of the 75th anniversary programme of the Debrecen Folk Ensemble, founded in 1950, with the aim of collecting and presenting the Hungarian folk traditions of the Lowlands. Today, the ensemble showcases captivating dances and dialects from all across the Carpathian Basin. Thanks to the incredible work of its founder, ethnographer and choreographer,Dr. András Béres,the ensemble has grown and thrived over the decades, earning numerous accolades like the Eternal Outstanding Ensemble Award and the Pro Urbe Award.
The guest of the gala evening will be the distinguished Jászság Folk Ensemble, who have been committed to preserving and reviving the spirit of Hungarian peasant culture for decades.

The Debrecen Folk Ensemble is led by Vilmos Hercz, with artistic direction from Tamásné Veres Beáta Hercz and István Vámosi, and dance groups led by Tamásné Veres Beáta Hercz and Dániel Rozsáyi, assisted by Lili Hercz and Jr. Vilmos Hercz.
The Jászság Folk Ensemble is artistically directed by Franciska Vajai and Gábor Szűcs, with Valter Nagy as a professional associate.
16 August 8.00 p.m.- Concert of Szigeti Juli Band at Dósa nádor Square
The Szigeti Juli band has already conquered several European cities, and now they are taking over the stage of the Debrecen Flower Carnival with a concert that you can’t sit and watch!
The main characters of the evening are jazz brass, swing rhythms, electronic grooves and of course Szigeti Juli herself, who not only sings, but also enchants you. The concert will feature the band’s own songs and well-known hits in a special, electro swing reworking, in a form that you have definitely not heard before. The band recently released their first album on the Berlin-based, music publisher Electro Swing Thing label, and their songs have already received millions of listens on Spotify.
If you like retro sound in a modern guise, if you can handle jazz pulsation and electronic parties, this concert is for you!
16 August 10.00 p.m. – The Biebers concert at Dósa nádor Square
The Fonogram-award winning band, The Biebers, fronted by Peti Puskás, is back on stage, and now they are targeting the audience with a concert that is guaranteed to get everyone moving.
Older hits will be played but they are also preparing fresh songs from their new EP, which bring new color to the band’s already diverse world. The new direction is modern, yet familiar, just like a The Biebers party should be: energetic, stylish, surprising.
The full band will be there at the concert: saxophone, drums, guitar, vocals, and of course the usual momentum that they have been touring the country’s biggest stages with for over a decade.
17 August 6.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m. – Concert of Alma Ensemble at Dósa nádor Square
The Alma Ensemble started by playing music for adults, but a surprise children’s concert led to a series of new requests. With multiple Fonogram nominations and gold and platinum records, their music has resonated with audiences, amassing over 300 million YouTube downloads. Their hit song “Ma van a szülinapom” is the most shared Hungarian content on Facebook. They’ve also created music for popular cartoons, such as the “Bogyó és Babóca” series and the theme songs for “Khumba” and “Manu the Swallow.” Performing 250-300 sold-out concerts each year, the Alma Ensemble is set to entertain fans live at the Debrecen Flower Carnival!
17 August 8.00 p.m. Concert of Ádám Szabó at Dósa nádor Square
Since that pivotal moment, in talent show Megasztár in 2019, Ádám Szabó has achieved significant milestones in his career, including a successful solo venture, the release of original songs, and production of notable hits, all while cultivating a growing audience. The charismatic young talent is preparing a real summer-ending concert to perform his well-known songs but of course there are also surprises to be expected. His unique voice and stage presence guarantee a special concert experience.
17 August 9.00 p.m. – Elvis Show at Kossuth Square
Join an unforgettable evening celebrating the rock ‘n’ roll legend, Elvis Presley, born 90 years ago. Elvis, the “King,” is still one of the most famous icons in music and was even honoured as an honorary citizen of Budapest for his support during the 1956 revolution.
The night will feature the talented Debrecen Big Band, with fresh arrangements and performances by popular Hungarian artists like Csaba and Tamás Vastag and Gábor Lantos. Get ready for amazing choreography from the award-winning dancers of the Valcer Dance Studio, who have collaborated with the band for over 20 years. Don’t miss this chance to experience a night where past legends meet today’s rhythms!
17 August 9.00 p.m. – Concert of Rebeka Balogh at Dósa nádor Square
One of the most memorable discoveries of talent show “Megasztár 2024”, Valéria Balogh Rebeka, who was awarded the title of “Female Voice of the Year”, will now take to the stage in Debrecen for the first time with her own songs! Rebeka’s clear, powerful and unique voice was recognised by the audience nationwide and now something new is starting. At the carnival concert, you can hear not only her favorite performances, but also her own songs, which she will perform for the first time in front of a live audience.
17 August 10.00 p.m. – Concert of Tamás Molnár at Dósa nádor Square
Tamás Molnár is a prominent figure in the Hungarian pop music scene, known for his impactful lyrics and energetic stage presence. An award-winning artist and frontman of bands Anti Fitness Club and JETLAG, he has also embarked on a successful solo career, releasing over 250 songs and numerous radio hits. His second solo album, “Sehovavaló,” released in 2024, features collaborations and includes popular hits and has over 10 million views. Now, he will perform in Debrecen with an orchestra, promising a heartfelt, dynamic concert that elevates the carnival spirit. Attendees can look forward to his original songs, reimagined classics, surprises, and the emotional depth that has defined his work.
18 August 7.00 p.m. – Abrakazabra Concert at Kossuth Square
Abrakazabra, Hungary’s most successful session band, celebrates its 26th birthday with a wild summer evening concert where they will perform with two standout talents: Szirota Jennifer known for her exceptional voice and stage presence, and Máté Gudics, a promising new talent in Hungarian pop music.
Abrakazabra is synonymous with a top-notch musical experience. Over 26 years, they’ve collaborated with more than 120 Hungarian artists, and two of their members, Gergő Szamosközi and Antal Varga, are leading lecturers at the Institute of Popular Music at the University of Debrecen, shaping Hungary’s first graduate popular music artists.
Expect a unique, energetic concert filled with emotion—it’s a true celebration for anyone who loves live music and expert performances!
18 August 8.00 p.m. – Tom White & The Mad Circus Concert at Dósa nádor Square
Tom White & the Mad Circus, key figures in the Hungarian rockabilly scene, are returning to Debrecen! Known for delivering over 120 concerts a year, they shot to fame in 2018 on the talent show X-Faktor. Now, they’re set to get the carnival crowd dancing with acrobatic stage moves, a vintage atmosphere, and retro hits served in a rockabilly style, infused with influences from Brazil and Toronto. 2019 was a highlight for the “Tom White” project, marked by a wild Brazilian tour where they wowed audiences with 14 concerts in 12 cities over 26 days, traveling more than 7,000 kilometers. Get ready to hear Hungarian hits from the ’90s like you’ve never experienced before, no one will stay seated!
18 August 9.00 p.m. – “Pély Barna 50” Concert at Kossuth Square
One of the standout events at this year’s Flower Carnival is the “Pély Barna 50” concert, a celebration of the award-winning singer-songwriter’s impressive 50-year journey. Barna Pély, a leading figure in Hungarian pop music for over 25 years, is known for his unique mix of blues, soul, and funk, along with an electrifying stage presence.
As he marks this milestone, this evening will be one of the highlights of the anniversary year, which is not only about his musical career, but also speaks to an entire generation.His impactful style and iconic presence resonate with an entire generation, ensuring this concert is a must-see!
18 August 9.00 p.m. Made about Marylin Concert at Dósa nádor Square
The trademark of Dénes Dávid’s band is: Alternative rock that twists reality. Brazenly fuzz guitar riffs, thumping basses, characterful drum grooves and a powerful yet sensitive vocal. One of Hungary’s most popular singers, Magdi Rúzsa, is set to shine at this year’s Flower Carnival with an unforgettable summer concert.
Her impressive catalog of hits and captivating stage presence promise to create true musical magic. A recipient of multiple awards,-including Prima Primissima, Máté Péter, Artisjus, and several Phonogram and Petőfi music awards, she has been a powerful force in the pop scene since 2006. With numerous gold and platinum records, she sold out the Budapest Arena for the sixth time in February 2025 and was the most played Hungarian artist on the radio in 2024. 19 August 8.00 p.m. at Dósa nádor Square – Concert of Wyrfarkas
The defining band of the Debrecen rock scene is back on stage who has been a regular fixture of the Hungarian hard rock scene for over 20 years, and now they’re bringing the usual hard, riffing, live music experience. The band was once founded by DVSC footballers, so the concert is guaranteed to be filled with all the power of their passion for football and rock!
The band members are:Tibor Dombi (drums, Tamás Sándor (bass guitar), Miklós Péter Balogh (guitar), Tamás Nándor (vocals).
