The program for Flower Carnival Week is ready, check it out now!

Only a few days left until one of the country’s largest and most colorful cultural events, the Debrecen Flower Carnival, begins. Between August 15 and 20, the city awaits visitors dressed in floral splendor.

The festival, which is built on more than a century of traditions, will not only delight you in 2025, but will also move you, literally and figuratively.

This year is being prepared with many new features: the community flower float will be introduced, magical light painting will illuminate the buildings in the city center every evening, a children’s carnival awaits the little ones, and Magdi Rúzsa and Halott Pénz will give a concert on the main stage of Kossuth Square.

The Debrecen Flower Carnival will go back to its roots in 2025 to put the power of community unity at the center of attention.

The 1905 charity flower carriage parade, which was started more than a century ago by the Debrecen Women’s Association to buy an ambulance, has now become not only a tradition but also a cultural celebration that moves the entire city.

Over the six days of Carnival Week, more than 350 programmes await the audience: free concerts in the main square, dance performances, family programmes, and a grandiose parade that dazzles spectators both day and night. The night procession is prepared with even more show elements, lights, and spectacular solutions.

The complete programme booklet of Carnival Week will help you navigate between the events, which is available online at debreceniviragkarneval.hu  at this link and in printed, page-able form from Monday at the city’s most important cultural and gastronomic points in more than ten thousand copies.
