Water pipe construction will not affect the Fészek Residential Park
In response to the comments of residents of the Fészek Residential Park in Debrecen, the local government is redesigning the route of a planned water pipeline to avoid affecting the area of the residential park.
Mayor László Papp and Deputy Mayor Diána Széles, the local government representative for the affected area, met with representatives of those who expressed doubts about the investment, which also impacts the Fészek Residential Park, on Monday, August 18, 2025.
László Papp said the local government reacted relatively quickly, as it received a petition on Sunday evening from residents of the Fészek Residential Park, who wrote down their comments regarding the planned water utility investment. On Monday morning, he called together the experts and asked them to develop alternatives. On Monday afternoon, at two o’clock, the local government was able to propose a solution for the residents of the Fészek Residential Park. Accordingly, the planned route of the water pipeline will be adjusted, and it will not pass through the area of the Fészek Residential Park, but will instead bypass it and proceed through the area of the Határ Road Industrial Park. This solution was acceptable and reassuring for the affected residents.
László Papp emphasised at the meeting that public comments are always important for the city government, and they have incorporated them into this development, taking into account the realities.
