General Practitioners can receive high-quality professional recognition this year too
In recent years, nearly 200 applications have been received, of which 16 entries have received awards, worth a total of 21.5 million forints.
Richter Gedeon Nyrt. is announcing the Richter Merit Award for the fourth time. With the application, which comes with high-quality professional recognition and a prize of two million forints per category, the company wishes to recognize the exemplary professional activity and dedication of family doctors working in domestic primary care.
The award was established by Richter Gedeon Nyrt. in recognition of the irreplaceable work of the domestic medical community in 2022. The aim of the Richter Merit Award is to support the adaptation of innovative ideas and good practices that can promote the further modernization of healthcare.
In the 2025 application period, Richter will open the application opportunity for mentor-resident pairs for the first time. In such a case, the Richter Merit Award will be awarded jointly by the jury.
With this opportunity, the company offers participation to those general practitioners who wish to take on the role of mentors and to those residents who can thus actively participate in the application process.
Richter stands by general practitioners
Zsuzsa Beke, Head of Group PR, CSR, and Government Relations at Richter Gedeon Nyrt., emphasized that it is of paramount importance for the company that care is also shown towards members of the healthcare system. General practitioners are those who operate at the forefront of healthcare and create extraordinary value.
With this award, they would like their work to become visible and recognized by society as well.
Dr. Péter Álmos, President of the Hungarian Medical Chamber, added that the role of family doctors is crucial to the stability of the healthcare system. They know their patients for a long time, develop a relationship of trust, and in addition to treatment, they also play a decisive role in prevention, lifestyle advice, and the coordination of patient journeys.

Application information
Gedeon Richter Nyrt. and the Hungarian Medical Chamber are looking for applications in the following categories:
- General Practitioner with the most outstanding scientific or innovative work of the year
- GP with the best preventive practice of the year
- GP with the most outstanding scientific or innovative work of the year
The award is open to all general practitioners (adult, mixed, and pediatric general practitioners) with an active practice and operating in Hungary. Applications can be submitted in writing by filling out the application form on the following website.
Deadline for submitting applications: Sunday, October 12, 2025, midnight.
In addition to professional recognition, the awardees will receive a prize worth two million forints per category, and their application materials will be presented on the website.
