Aquaticum Debrecen Strand welcomed even more foreign guests this year

Aquaticum Debrecen Strand had a successful year. More than 200,000 people visited the facility this year. Compared to last year, 30 percent more foreign guests were welcomed.

This year, one of the most anticipated occasions for high school graduates was not missed either, when they had the Aquaticum Debrecen beach to themselves for a whole day. This was the fifth time that the graduates could have fun freely in the complex.

In addition to the people of Debrecen, guests came from many parts of the country during the summer season. Some of them were also visiting for the first time.

Since the weather was favorable, the spa complex was open until September 7, with a one-week extension.

The effects of the storms and changeable weather in July were felt nationwide in the number of guests at the spas. The number of guests in Debrecen decreased slightly compared to last year, but still more than 200 thousand guests came here.

“We fell a little short of 217 thousand, but we have to put this down to the weather and nothing else. If the weather is bad, guests do not like to come outside as much, but we can say that overall the season ended well,” director of bath services at Aquaticum Debrecen Kft., Tibor Holléri, pointed out.

The strand tried to offer varied and thematic programs to bathers during the season. Compared to last year, about 30 percent more foreign guests arrived, but more and more domestic guests are choosing Debrecen.

“The city’s tourism is very important, and that is why we talk about it so much, because it brings income to the city. Those who come here spend their resources at businesses, pastry shops, and restaurants, and not elsewhere,” Deputy Mayor Diána Széles pointed out.

The strand is closed, but the work is not over yet. The entire area of the facility is being prepared for the winter period. Currently, the movable items are being packed, and their condition is being assessed, and they will be repaired and sometimes replaced until next season. Weather permitting, the Aquaticum Strand will reopen next May.
