The MagdaFeszt festival, now in its eighth edition, honors the legacy of renowned Hungarian novelist, born in Derecen, Magda Szabó. Hosted by the Csokonai National Theatre, the event celebrates women’s creativity, their societal roles, and their presence as artistic inspiration.
The festival aims to deepen the conversation around women’s contributions to the arts—especially those aspects that remain underrepresented or unexplored. Alongside performances inspired by Szabó’s works, a rich variety of accompanying programs will further enhance the experience.
Below are a few programs that are accessible for international visitors, regardless of language background.
