The Debrecen-Kossuth Street Reformed Church will hold a service in English on September 28.
The Kossuth Street Reformed Church (also known as the Verestemplom in Hungian “Red Church”) warmly invites you to its upcoming English-language worship service on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
These services are held on the last Sunday of each month at 5:00 p.m., offering a welcoming space for English-speaking members of the community to gather, reflect, and worship together.
About one of the most unique Reformed churches in Central Europe:
Kossuth Street widens into a square named after Péter Méliusz Juhász, the bishop of Debrecen who formulated the doctrines of the Hungarian Reformation. The Reformed church in the middle of the square was built of unplastered red clinker bricks, which is how it got its common name. The church was built in 1887 in a neo-Gothic style, its interior, decorated with frescoes of particular value, as such decorations are unusual in Reformed churches.
More information about the service can be found in the Kossuth Street Reformed Church’s Facebook post.
Date: 28 September, on Sundays of each month at 5:00 p.m.
