New doctors graduated from the University of Debrecen
“The recent graduates of the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen were inaugurated as doctors in the past few days,” as reported on Monday on unideb.hu.
“When we welcome you as our colleagues after taking the oath as doctors, your first thought should be one of gratitude. Thank you to all those who helped you become doctors,” László Mátyus, Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Debrecen, began his ceremonial speech, highlighting that the recent graduates have the modern knowledge that enables them to meet the requirements set for doctors.
At the same time, the dean drew attention to the fact that meeting expectations requires continuous learning and self-education. The professor added that the University of Debrecen has always been characterized by stability and unbroken development, has always been open to new ideas, while at the same time preserving the values of medical education, and is ready for further development.
He emphasized that the recent graduates can be proud of having obtained their knowledge and medical degrees at one of the largest and most prestigious universities and medical schools in the country, which also stands its ground in European comparison.
Following the ceremonial speech, the newly graduated students, sixty-six Hungarian citizens and eighty-one foreign citizens, took their oaths and then received their diplomas.
“Dear new doctors! It is now your duty to uphold the prestige of your profession, earned through your academic endeavors, as well as to promote the growth and prosperity of your field of expertise and the University of Debrecen, into whose ranks of medical doctors we have hereby inducted you, thereby effectively advancing the interests of our country. In the difficult moments of your lives and professional work, remember the oath you have just taken as doctors,” József Tőzsér, Vice-Rector for Sector Development at the University of Debrecen responsible for life sciences, greeted the new doctors.
At the ceremony, fourteen newly graduated students received DETEP certificates in recognition of their work in the Talent Development Program of the University of Debrecen (Dávid Martin Adorján, Krisztián Balogh, Zalán Kornél Barta, Dániel Kovács, Kitti Kurtán, Angelika Lilla Papp, Diána Pál, Mihály Székely, Kornél Zalán Varga, Michelle Oluwabunkunmi Adeagbo, Ayomide Oluwafeyisayo Adebayo, Maame Efua Benyiwa Benyi, Niyati Chandrika, and Rachael Suzanne Ninan).
Mihály Székely, the newly inaugurated doctor of medicine, received the Outstanding Student award of the University of Debrecen.
The “Outstanding Lecturer of the Faculty of General Medicine” award was granted to Árpád Szöőr, assistant professor of the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Biology; Tünde Tarr, associate professor of the Institute of Internal Medicine; and László Márk, honorary professor and chief physician of the Pándy Kálmán Member Hospital of the Békés County Central Hospital.
The students of the Faculty of General Medicine studying in Hungarian and English elected the university lecturers they considered the most outstanding, and the faculty awarded them with the Faculty of General Medicine Lecturer of the Year award.
The award was received by Tamás Juhász, assistant professor of the Institute of Anatomy, Histology, and Development, Tamás Kovács, assistant professor of the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Biology, Balázs Horváth, associate professor of the Institute of Physiology, Kristóf Levente Korpás, resident of the Institute of Pathology, László Bidiga, assistant professor of the Institute of Pathology, Róbert Pórszász, university professor of the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, Béla Juhász, university professor of the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, Andrea Szegedi, university professor of the Department of Dermatology; László Oláh, university professor of the Department of Neurology; and György Paragh, university professor of the Institute of Internal Medicine, from Dean László Mátyus.
The Council of the Faculty of General Medicine, based on the proposal of the Academic Committee and the students of the faculty, awarded the newly inaugurated Doctor of Medicine, Dávid Martin Adorján, the Pro Facultate Iuventutis Award for his outstanding academic and public activities.
Dávid Martin Adorján, Kitti Kurtán, and Mihály Székely received the Weszprém Award in recognition of their excellent academic results, their outstanding scientific work in the Scientific Student Circle, and their outstanding participation in local and national scientific student circle congresses.
Laura Erika Antal and Zalán Kornél Barta received a certificate of recognition for their excellent work in the training program of the Sántha Kálmán Specialized College, and in recognition of their professional and public activities at the university, the Certificate of Recognition of the DEHÖK Presidency was received by Dávid Martin Adorján and Saeed Youmna Saeed Ahmed, and the Certificate of Recognition of the President and Vice-President of DEHÖK was received by Muzondo Anesu Clemence and Sultan Mohid at the Friday ceremony.
