Debrecen is looking for the “Cívis” Host of the Year again this year
Debrecen residents and visitors to the city can vote for their favorite restaurant.
The initiative of Cívis Ház Zrt. encourages local gastronomic players to raise the level of Debrecen’s hospitality with exemplary standards and continuous development.
The professional jury tested a total of 21 Debrecen restaurants in two categories this year. The chairman of the jury is Balázs Csapody, president of the Pannon Gastronomy Academy and owner of Kistücsök Restaurant; its members are winemaker Sarolta Bárdos (Tokaj Nobilis; Winemaker of the Year 2024), chef Patrik Nyikos (Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs world champion; member of the Bocuse d’Or medal team; Boros László award-winning chef), and Edit Erdei, CEO of Cívis Ház Zrt.
The general public can decide which restaurants will take home the public award. Among the voters, Cívis Ház Zrt. will draw 2 × HUF 50,000 vouchers, which can be used at the places with the public award.
As a result of the competition, beyond the “challenge” itself, a genuine professional dialogue has begun with the owners, chefs, and managers. Cívis Ház Zrt. has thus already achieved one of its goals: supporting development and highlighting and disseminating good practices. The awards will be presented, and the winners of the public vote will be announced at the ceremonial announcement of the results on October 17, 2025.
Voting for the Audience Award in the “Cívis Host of the Year” competition is open on the website https://www.civishaz.hu/hu/szavazas between October 1 and 14.
