Malter Short Film Festival is back at the Apollo Cinema

“Malter” is coming again this year, and this time with very exciting works.

The Malter Short Film Festival, which is now eleven years old, provides a forum for works that cannot be seen anywhere else, from low-budget, amateur independent films to professional works. As film lovers have become accustomed to, in October audiences can once again watch short films within the Short Film Festival in Debrecen, at the usual location, the Apollo Cinema.

This time too, the short films will be spinning for days at the Malter festival; there will be programs on October 10 and 11, and before that on the 9, since this year “Malter” has joined the Design Week series. You can find its programs here.

As always, the festival offers a spectacular cross-section of the works produced in the past year, how the creators see our world, and what they consider important to convey to the audience through the medium of film.

As in previous years, this year too, the Magdafeszt and Malter series of events focusing on one of the country’s most well-known writers, Magda Szabó, and female creators will be linked.

On October 3, at 6.00 p.m.,  a free screening of “Malter” will begin at the Apollo as part of Magdafeszt, followed by a “talk”,  with the active participation of the audience, according to the plans.

Wihin the progarms of the festival, a captivating selection of short films from around the world awaits audiences on October 11 from 12.30 p.m.
