The renovation of the iconic twin corner houses on Simonffy Street is already underway
The renovation of the iconic twin corner houses on Simonffy Street is already underway. The work has begun with the reconstruction of the facade of the downtown apartment building at number 2, which is planned to be completed before the Advent period.
A part of the building at 2 Simonffy Street is currently scaffolded, and in some places the renovated facade is visible. The reconstruction began with the replacement of the shop windows of the ground floor shops, which is important for the tenants in terms of heat and noise protection.
“We have started a serious reconstruction of both buildings, and we will practically finish the entrance of the shops at 2 Simonffy Street this year. This is not so interesting from the perspective of an external observer, but the tenants and operators in the store may perceive a serious change,” highlighted Edit Erdei, CEO of Cívis Ház Zrt.
The facade of the corner building on Simonffy Street, located in a historical environment, will be renovated, the building statues will be repaired, and then they will be repainted. This part of the external reconstruction will cost about HUF 10 million and will last a few weeks.
“We will complete the investment in Simonffy Street on November 15. This is necessary so that we can also install the Advent street lighting. After that, we will also complete the facade on Piac Street by November 30,” pointed out Imre Szőke, Technical and Operations Director of Cívis Ház Zrt.
According to the plans of Cívis Ház Zrt., the other building of the twin palace on the corner of Simonffy Street and Piac Street will soon be renovated.
