The flu season could begin within weeks

The vaccine has arrived at general practitioners.

The spread of the disease is not yet typical, but experts say it is worth getting the vaccine now, because the flu season could start within weeks.

The free vaccine kit for general practitioners, and those in the higher risk group have already been notified of the free prevention option, which many people take advantage of every year.

The number of people visiting doctors with upper respiratory tract complaints has decreased by a quarter in the past two weeks, currently Covid is mainly spreading, flu is not yet typical. Nevertheless, it is worth getting the flu vaccine now to build up immunity before the flu season.

“The infection will spread very quickly, the peak is expected in November. If we start getting vaccinated now, the vaccine will be up and we will be protected by November,” said Dr. Csaba Papp, head of the University General Practitioner Service and DAEFI.

The flu vaccine is especially recommended for people over 65 and chronically ill patients, which significantly reduces the chance of infection and more serious illness, even with complications.
