Vojtina Puppet Theatre“My 50 Years at Vojtina!” Anikó Asbóth’s retrospective exhibition opened on October 31 in the exhibition hall of the Debrecen Puppet Theater on Kálvin Square.
Running until the end of November, the exhibition offers a distinguished tribute to Asbóth’s remarkable career, highlighting her five decades of dedication to puppetry and theater.
The director of the puppet theater is one of those who founded the Vojtina Puppet Ensemble 50 years ago, on New Year’s Eve in 1975. Over the past five decades, she has worked as a puppeteer and artistic director and, for the past 32 years, as director of the theater. Today she also serves as president of the Hungarian Puppeteers’ Association, embodying a lifelong commitment to the art form and to the community that has grown around it.
This exhibition is not only a celebration of Anikó Asbóth’s extraordinary journey, but also an invitation for audiences to rediscover the enduring magic of puppetry and the cultural legacy she has helped shape in Debrecen and beyond.
