Debrecen’s Christmas tree was found together
The Municipality of Debrecen, in keeping with tradition, has been waiting for donations from the citizens of the city for the Debrecen Christmas tree, which has now been selected.
Every year, in the city center, on Kossuth Square, in front of the Great Church, a donated pine tree symbolizes the shared Christmas holiday. This year, the municipality waited for the offers between October 17 and 31, based on which the mayor’s office employee examined the donated pine trees together with the experts involved in cutting and transporting them.
The tree finally selected became Zsolt Pápai’s 14-meter-high silver pine tree. The Municipality of Debrecen thanks him and all applicants for the donations, which, as the holiday season approaches, will again be welcomed from the citizens of Debrecen next year.
The Christmas tree will be put up on November 21, and the festive lights will be lit on November 30, 2025, the first Sunday of Advent, in the evening on Kossuth Square.
