Debrecen among Europe’s 20 best Christmas markets as the only Hungarian city
Debrecen was selected as the only Hungarian city among the TOP 20 nominees in the category “European Best Christmas Markets” by Europe’s leading travel portal, European Best Destinations (EBD), Főnix Rendezvényszervező Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. announced.
Among this year’s nominees are long-established markets in cities such as Gdańsk, Basel, Strasbourg, Zagreb, Vienna, and Tallinn — meaning Debrecen is competing with internationally renowned cities that have shaped Europe’s Christmas tourism for many years.
About the public voting process that will determine the final ranking:
- Voting is open from November 20 to 27 (a total of 8 days), with the online platform available between midnight on November 19 and 11:59 AM (Brussels time) on November 27.
- One vote per day can be cast per IP address, meaning everyone can vote for Debrecen once per day.
- No registration is required to vote.
- The voting link is provided by EBD; the official website will transform into the voting page on November 20, and the results will also appear there at 4:00 PM on November 27.
All nominees — including Debrecen — will be entitled to use the European Best Christmas Market title and logo.
