Déri Museum offers a journey to the world of Japanese martial arts

Déri Museum once again guides its visitors into the mystical world of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on November 22, visitors are welcome to the museum’s Ceremonial Hall on the occasion of the Day of Japanese Traditions and Martial Arts.

The event will be attended by Ono Hikariko, Ambassador of Japan to Hungary, who will deliver a greeting.

Patrons to the event are István Puskás, Deputy Mayor for Culture, as well as János Angi, Director of Déri Museum, and chief organiser Tibor Balogh (Budo Art).

Throughout the day, lovers of Japanese culture and martial arts can enjoy exceptional presentations and demonstrations. The program focuses on the connection between combat and art, allowing visitors to:

  • learn about the role of ancient techniques in the modern world,
  • gain insight into the long history of a short blade,
  • learn much about the spiritual founders of Japanese swordsmanship,
  • and discover the past and heritage of Japanese archery.

Entry to this special event is granted by tickets valid for Déri Museum’s permanent exhibition.
