The contractor for the University of Debrecen’s new technical base has been chosen
Of the six applicants, Debrecen-based Hunép Zrt. submitted the most favorable offer in the public procurement that the University of Debrecen announced for the construction of a new technical base, according to the summary uploaded to the Public Procurement Bulletin. The company undertook the work for a gross of HUF 1,299 million.
The contract-signing moratorium expires on December 1, after which the parties can conclude the contract.
Last year, after the construction permit procedure began, when contacted by dehir.hu, the university said that the technical base would be built in the courtyard of the boiler house on the Egyetem Square campus of the institution if the institution had the funds for it.
The new facility would serve to accommodate the increased operational tasks of the staff currently scattered across different parts of the university campuses and their equipment while relieving the areas they currently use and ensuring their use for other purposes.
The tender documentation indicates that the construction would take place on the University Square campus, behind the boiler house and next to the current business entrance of the Agora building.
The technical base is designed to provide optimal workspace for the staff of the Chief Engineering Office’s General Technical Department, as well as for employees of the service units.
The building will have two floors. The ground floor will primarily serve the staff responsible for maintaining and operating the University Square campus. This level will house workshops, changing rooms, machine sheds, storage areas, other facilities, and covered open parking spaces. Offices will be located on the upper floor, with several 2–3 person offices designed for staff working on university development and operations. This level will also include a kitchenette and sanitary facilities.
The gross built-up area of the base will be nearly 900 square meters; the net usable area will be nearly 1500 square meters.
The winning company will have one and a half years to complete the work.
