A warm and welcoming Thanksgiving celebration and potluck dinner await in Debrecen, co-organized by students from the American Studies program at UD IEAS together with American Corner Debrecen.

The event is designed to share the spirit of one of America’s most beloved holidays, bringing together community members for an evening of gratitude, learning, and festive traditions. 

Whether you are familiar with the holiday or experiencing it for the first time, this event promises a welcoming atmosphere filled with learning, laughter, and delicious traditions.

Program Highlights:

• Presentation on Thanksgiving – Participants will learn about the history and customs of this classic American holiday.
•  Arts & Crafts Corner – Children and adults alike can create festive decorations to take home.
• Gratitude Wall – Attendees will be invited to share messages of thanks on a community wall.
• Kahoot Quiz – Guests can test their knowledge of Thanksgiving traditions in a fun trivia game with small prizes.
• Thanksgiving Favorites – Traditional dishes such as roasted turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, and cranberry sauce will be served by American Corner Debrecen.
• Potluck Dinner – Guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share, such as a salad, dessert, or non-alcoholic drink, all contributions to the potluck table are welcome.
