This year, the Donation Weekend will once again be held at Debrecen Zoo, bringing the community together in the spirit of giving, this time with the focus on the power of community and helping others. The program is organized in cooperation with the Debrecen Charity Board.

Bring a donation, and admission is only HUF 2800! Non-perishable food or even festive chocolate can be placed in the donation boxes.

Programs

Community Christmas Tree Planting – November 29, 11:00 a.m. 

On Saturday at 11:00 a.m., the zoo’s Christmas tree will be planted together, then decorated with the children. The finished tree will shine as a festive centerpiece throughout the season.

Programs All Weekend

• Santa Walk—Santa will appear both days, handing out sweets and happily posing for photos with children.
  Crafts & Adoption Point at the Gibbon House—From 10:00 a.m. to a.m.–2:00 p.m., creative holiday workshops for all ages.
  Christmas Photo Spots – Capture festive pictures at two decorated locations.
  Interactive Game – Explore the zoo and find the hidden Santas!
  Festive Feeding Shows – Special animal feedings both days: 

• 10:00 a.m. – Capuchin monkeys, red pandas, South American tapirs 
  10:30 a.m. – Small pandas
  10:45 a.m. – African marabou storks 
  11:00 a.m.—White-handed gibbons, meerkats
  11:30 a.m. – Two-toed sloths, giant hairy armadillos
  1:15 p.m. – Archerfish
  1:30 p.m. – Asiatic lion (Saturday) / Siberian tiger (Sunday)
  2:00 p.m. – Red-bellied piranhas

The zoo cares for more than 170 species and nearly 900 individuals with true dedication and care. Adoptions provide real support for daily animal care, while donations help people in need.
