Fórum Shopping Center will also be filled with festive melodies

In the musical event series called “Klassz Karácsony,” twenty concerts will be held in the Fórum Debrecen over three weeks, with a total of more than a hundred performers.

High-quality works that fit the atmosphere of the upcoming holiday will be performed by the university students, bringing the joy of music and the holiday closer to the people of Debrecen. The musical cooperation between the University of Debrecen and the Fórum Shopping Center started last year. According to the plans, there will also be Advent concerts in the shopping center in the coming years.

“This is a new initiative in the Fórum Debrecen Shopping Center; classical music will be played on our main stage during Advent. The students and talents of the Faculty of Music will present Christmas pieces. Let us trust that the festive atmosphere of Christmas will reach our visitors even while shopping,” said Ajtony Átányi, the center manager of Fórum Debrecen.

University professor Judit Váradi, head of the art management office of the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen, highlighted that the initiative met content and demand, as the faculty’s instructors and students will appear on the stage of the Forum Debrecen in response to the shopping center’s request.

“We train performing artists and would like to give talented young people as many opportunities as possible to publicly demonstrate their musical knowledge. In this spirit, about half of the students of the Faculty of Music will participate in these performances, and with their participation we would like to achieve that we can stop everyday life for a moment and give them a way to recharge with the power of music. We are preparing a very colorful program; the main role will be played by melody-centricity, since the main thing is that the audience loves and experiences what they hear,” said the artistic manager.

The University students will perform high‑quality works that capture the holiday spirit, with a three‑week music series of twenty concerts featuring more than one hundred artists from November 25 to December 19.
