The BMW Group Plant Debrecen Talent Campus hosted an Automotive Open Day

Two days about the world of high-tech vehicle manufacturing. The Automotive Industry Open Day was organized for the sixth time in cooperation with the BMW Group Plant Debrecen and the Debrecen Vocational Training Center (DSZC).

The program is mainly aimed at primary school students who are about to choose a career.

The graduating primary school students got to know the i7 model at the Talent Campus of the BMW Group Plant Debrecen. Norbert Szénási expressed his delight at attending the event, noting his particular interest in the field of mechatronics. “We are given very engaging insights, especially from those involved in dual training. They share a wealth of useful information about cars and the entire process,” he said.

Three hundred students participating in the dual vocational training program study at the Training Center. The graduates of the first class, admitted in 2023, have started their final academic year.

The program combines modern training infrastructure, a state-of-the-art production environment, and BMW’s more than a century of experience. “In cooperation with DSZC, we have created one of the most significant automotive training programs in Hungary. To our current knowledge, this is the largest program of its kind in technical vocational training, which we are very proud of,”  Johannes Trauth, Vice President of BMW Group Plant Debrecen, underlined.

The Automotive Industry Open Day was held for the sixth time, mainly for primary school students who are about to choose a career, to gain insight into the world of vehicle manufacturing, and to get acquainted with the various automotive professions.

“Today, a gate can open between your world and the technology of the future. This can be one of the entrances to the future. I could say that the dream job comes to your door,” László Türk, Director of the Debrecen School District Center, stated.

Ninth‑ and tenth‑grade students from the technical schools of the Debrecen Vocational Training Center also attended the open day. Chancellor of DSZC Zsolt Tirpák emphasized that Debrecen now offers all the conditions necessary for young people to secure competitive positions in the labor market. He explained that today’s vocational training delivers truly competitive knowledge, developed in close cooperation between economic partners and vocational institutions. This collaboration ensures that students are equipped to become valuable employees in a very short time.

Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa emphasized that the city’s strategy is centered on young people, as the future must be built with them. He noted that this has always been Debrecen’s success story: as a school town, it has long provided space for talents to flourish. He highlighted that BMW has decided to construct a 7,000‑square‑meter training center dedicated to preparing young people, relying primarily on local labor to shape the future of Debrecen and the Neue Klasse together with them.

Around a thousand students are participating in the two-day event held at the Training Center.
