A Debrecen-Based Research Project Has Also Reached the Finals
For the eighth time, Richter Gedeon Nyrt. has launched the widely respected Richter Anna Award, which supports innovative initiatives by professionals working in healthcare, education, and research.
Among this year’s finalists is a research group from Debrecen: experts from the University of Debrecen are competing in the pharmacist category with their project titled Hormones on the Plate.
The aim of the competition is to encourage innovation and continuous development in keeping with the spirit of the founding family. The award recognizes the most promising initiatives in five categories – teacher, physician, healthcare professional, pharmacist, and junior. Winners in each category receive HUF 4 million in funding to implement their projects.
The uniqueness of the Debrecen research lies in the fact that it examines three fields that have rarely been linked before: nutritional science, hormonal regulation, and the effects of environmental exposures.
The joint work of the Institute of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy and the Infertility Center of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Debrecen strengthens a holistic approach to women’s health.
The project also draws attention to the significant role that food safety and environmental exposures may play in hormonal balance and fertility.
Professional judges select the jury prize winners in each category, while the audience award is decided by voters. Votes can be cast until March 8 at richterannadij.hu, where introductions of the finalist teams are also available.
The results will be announced on March 18 at a gala. According to the organizers, the award not only helps bring the best ideas to life, but also contributes to the creation of innovations that can improve the quality of life for many people in the long term.
