Another Important Street Section in Pallag to Be Asphalted

Companies may apply until 13 May for the public procurement tender issued by the Municipality of Debrecen for the asphalting of a further section of Fekete István Street in Pallag. The contractor is currently being sought for the section between Bocz Ernő Street and Makszin Mihály Street; however, according to the approved budget, in the third phase the section between Szelényi Ferenc Street and Bencsik István Street will also be asphalted, with plans for completion later this year.

Serving as the main access route of the Barackvirág Residential Park, this road is important for residents of Pallag, as the dynamically developing, peaceful and suburban-style residential area has been chosen as home by many young people. In the first phase in 2024, 275 metres of the road were asphalted, and this work is now continuing.

According to this year’s budget, the city will allocate HUF 9.25 billion to transport development in 2026.

Within this, HUF 2.37 billion will be spent on large-scale road repairs, HUF 2.1 billion on asphalting previously unpaved roads, HUF 180 million on grading and road stabilisation, HUF 130 million on public lighting improvements, HUF 340 million on pavement and staircase renovations, and a further HUF 45 million on the installation of speed cameras and the enhancement of road safety.
