Apolló Cinema to Screen the Best French Films
The programme will include comedies, thrillers and animated sci-fi films as well as the opportunity to meet a renowned French author.
The Francophone Film Days offer an excellent opportunity each year to discover the finest recent French-language films. This year, the festival—held for the sixteenth time—will provide an enriching experience for visitors to the Apolló Cinema between 17 and 22 March.
The opening ceremony will take place on 17 March at 18:00, attended by Matthieu Berton, Director of the French Institute in Hungary, and writer Laurence Cossé (whose 2016 novel La Grande Arche was adapted for film by Stéphane Demoustier under the title L’Inconnu de la Grande Arche), as well as Deputy Mayor István Puskás.
Following the welcome speeches and just before the screening, secondary school student Panna Meszesán will delight the audience with a surprise musical performance, presenting a French chanson.
After the screening of L’Inconnu de la Grande Arche, film aesthete and university lecturer Anna Kata Váró will hold a discussion with Laurence Cossé. The discussion will take place in French, with interpretation provided for the audience.
