BMW showcases iX3 production in Debrecen
According to Oliver Zipse, CEO of the BMW Group, this could be the model that sells the most next year.
The Debrecen plant has been in series production for several weeks for the iX3, the first member of the Neue Klasse model family, which was introduced in September. Dehir.hu was the first to publish video footage from the production area of BMW’s Debrecen plant at the end of September, but now a new, truly spectacular video has arrived from the BMW Group, which follows the entire production process of the iX3 from the pressing of the first plate until the vehicle rolls off the production line.
Meanwhile, BMW is introducing the iX3 in more and more countries, with premieres in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain. In the latter two countries, the car was promoted with the Real Madrid and AC Milan football teams, as BMW cooperates with football clubs.
The first deliveries of the iX3 model are expected in Europe in the spring and in America in the summer. In Germany, more orders have already been received for the electric iX3 than for the gasoline X3 model.
Oliver Zipse, CEO of the BMW Group, recently said that the iX3 is receiving more orders than expected and that it could be the model that will be sold the most next year.
Meanwhile, BMW is booming, with the German carmaker’s profit (EUR 1.697 billion) increasing by 256 percent in the third quarter of this year compared to the previous year. In October, BMW AG’s sales in the European Union rose by 8.7 percent compared to the same month last year, while its main competitor, Mercedes-Benz, grew by 2 percent.
BMW promises the iX3 a maximum WLTP range of 805 kilometers, but recently, as a result of a special test, it traveled more than a thousand kilometers, from its birthplace in Hungary, the Debrecen Plant, to BMW’s home in Munich.
BMW Group Plant Debrecen is now recruiting new employees to start the second shift. Currently, applicants are invited for 44 positions.
According to the monthly report of the HR Portal and the company information service provider Opten, the plant already employs more than three thousand people.
Anyone can see the BMW iX3 in the Fórum Shopping Center, where on weekends the company’s colleagues also provide information about job opportunities to those interested.
Meanwhile, spy photos of the BMW iX4 have also been released, and according to press information, this could be the next Neue Klasse model, which will be produced in the Debrecen Plant.
