Call for applications for civil, cultural and youth funds, as well as support for sports tasks – 2025
The Municipality of Debrecen is also announcing its applications for civil, cultural and youth funds, as well as for support for sports activities this year. The details were announced at a press conference by Deputy Mayors of Debrecen, Diána Széles and István Puskás, on the 31st of March, 2025, in the Vénkert Street gym of Piruett Dance Studio.
As Diána Széles said, “The local government regularly provides application opportunities from the city budget to civil organisations based in Debrecen, which await the announcements every year. With extremely diverse areas of activity, thereby also supporting the activities of the local government, a total of more than 1,600 civil organisations operate in the city, and taking this diversity into account, they can apply for civil, cultural and youth funds, as well as for support for sports tasks. This year, a total of more than HUF 30 million is available for all these purposes in the city budget.” The Deputy Mayor emphasised that they did not want to burden civil organisations wishing to apply with complicated administration, so for the application itself, it is sufficient to fill out a registration interface, and the real “paperwork” follows after the grants are awarded.
This year’s call for applications and the registration form are available on internet sites at https://www.debrecen.hu/hu/debreceni/osztondijak-palyazatok/ and https://apps.debrecen.hu/index.php/civil-regisztracio. Applications can be submitted until the 30th of April, 2025.
Diána Széles also emphasised that it is always very important for the Municipality to be able to support as many city and district-level civil organisations as possible in order to enable communities to develop and renew. To this end, applications can now also be submitted to cover operating costs, purchase equipment, and organise programmes. These application opportunities also indicate that the Municipality of Debrecen appreciates the activities of civil organisations. About the Piruett Dance Studio, which hosted the current press conference, Diána Széles said that more than 600 children dance there, including more than 100 certified competitors. This civil organisation gives countless children the opportunity to exercise, play sports, and also to regularly show their talents as performers at the Debrecen Flower Carnival.
Deputy Mayor István Puskás drew attention to the importance, effectiveness and significance of the work of civil organisations and communities, saying that without the cooperation of the local government and these organisations, the Made in Debrecen music festival, held on Saturday, the 29th of March, 2025, would not have been possible, where 600 musicians from a total of 192 bands played. Civil society organisations enrich the cultural and community life of the city with more and more exciting programmes every week. István Puskás also highlighted the fact that in addition to the opportunity to apply for civil, cultural and youth funds, as well as for supporting sports tasks, the popular music support programme, announced for the fifth time this year, is also available on the aforementioned application platforms, with which you can apply for help with making audio and video recordings. The deadline for this application is also the 30th of April, 2025. This opportunity can give impetus to bands such as those that performed at the Made in Debrecen music festival.
On behalf of Piruett Dance Studio, coach Vivien Bartuska thanked the city for the support they have received so far through tenders, which they have used to purchase devices, expand the equipment of their gyms, invite guest performers to their large-scale gala held annually, and last but not least, pay for the qualification registration fees of their competitors for the world championship, which is a great help for the children and their parents.
In connection with the event, students and soloists of Piruett Dance Studio,Mira Szabó, Nóra Holopovics and Noémi Szabó also gave a short presentation.
