“The world’s largest battery manufacturer, CATL, which is also establishing a factory in Debrecen, submitted its application for listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last Tuesday,” economx wrote, based on Reuters.
The reason for this is that part of the proceeds, $5 billion, will be used to build the $7.53 billion battery factory being constructed in the Southern Industrial Zone.
The (secondary) listing of the Shenzhen-based company would be one of the largest in Hong Kong in the past three years.
The Hong Kong stock exchange is showing increasing interest in secondary listings of Class “A” companies seeking to create overseas liquidity.
The company also produces batteries for Tesla, Chrysler and Jeep.
