About the Zsuzsi Forest Railway

The Zsuzsi Forest Railway offers scenic rides through the Erdőspuszta region, connecting Debrecen to natural sites like Hármashegyalja, which features hiking trails, picnic areas, observation towers, and a fish pond.

It’s a favorite among families and school groups, often described as a nostalgic experience for adults and a magical adventure for children.

The railway is also celebrated for its cultural significance. Various programs regularly highlight its legacy. The Zsuzsi steam locomotive, now 143 years old, continues to operate, symbolizing the enduring charm and historical value of this unique railway.
