Commemoration Held on the 139th Anniversary of László Holló’s Birth
A commemoration was held at the Debrecen memorial sites of the Kossuth and Munkácsy Prize-winning painter László Holló on the 139th anniversary of his birth, organised by the Ferenc Medgyessy Secondary School of Art.
Representatives of Debrecen and the secondary school, as well as art collectors, laid wreaths of remembrance at the bust of the visual artist, who holds a defining place in the cultural history of Debrecen, on László Holló Promenade. The commemoration then continued in the garden of the memorial house created from the painter’s former home.
In his speech, Deputy Mayor István Puskás praised the cultural legacy of László Holló, who immortalised the landscapes around Debrecen, and recommended his spirit as an inspiration to the students of the art secondary school.
At the end of the commemoration, participants laid wreaths at the László Holló relief in the garden of the memorial house.
