Commemorations on the occasion of October 6– 2025
The Municipality of Debrecen City will organize a commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony on Monday, October 6, 2025, on the occasion of the Memorial Day of the heroes of the 1848-49 War of Independence, the Hungarian generals executed in Arad on October 6, 1849.
9:00 AM: Raising of the Hungarian flag and lowering it to half-mast at Kossuth Square
10:00 AM: Remembrance and wreath-laying at the Haldokló oroszlán (Dying Lion) Monument in the Honvéd Cemetery – Heroes’ Cemetery (Honvéd Cemetery Street 36)

11:00 AM: Wreath-laying at the grave of General József Nagysándor (next to Balmazújvárosi Road)
11:30 AM: Wreath-laying at the Nagysándor József memorial plaque on the wall of Recruiting Office No. 2 (Péterfia Street 58/A)
