The Tiszántúl Reformed Church District has been awarded a non-repayable grant of HUF 1.44 billion under the call for proposals titled “Development of Daycare Education” to implement the project titled “Construction of a Nursery in the Debrecen-Józsa District,” with identification number RRF-1.1.2-21-2023-00166. As part of the project, funded by the European Union through the Recovery and Resilience Facility, a new nursery was established in the Debrecen-Józsa district.
Construction work has been completed on the project to build a new 96-capacity daycare center in the Józsa district of Debrecen. The daycare center has opened its doors, and the new facility is now available to families.
The goal of the project was to establish a modern daycare center that meets today’s standards in the rapidly developing Józsa neighborhood. The area is home to a significant number of institutions and businesses with large workforces, leading to a growing need for daycare services located near workplaces.
Access to daycare services is of paramount importance for families with young children, as it supports parents—especially mothers—in balancing family and work obligations. The new facility provides a safe, modern, and child-friendly environment for the education and care of young children.
As part of the project, the necessary equipment for the facility’s proper operation was also procured. The completed daycare center serves families in Debrecen as a comfortable, economically sustainable facility that provides high-quality care over the long term. The completion of the project has created a modern institutional environment that ensures high-quality early childhood care for families living in the district over the long term. During the design of the facility, key priorities included ensuring energy-efficient and sustainable operations, as well as creating a modern educational environment tailored to the developmental needs of the children.
The project helps reduce the burden on families, ensures equal access to services, and enhances Debrecen’s ability to retain its population. The initiative supports improved quality of life, helps maintain employability, and facilitates the return of parents with young children to the labor market. With the launch of the program, high-quality daycare has become more accessible to families, providing a safe and loving environment for children.
