Day of National Cohesion – 2026

The Municipality of Debrecen will hold commemorations on 4 June 2026 to mark the 106th anniversary of the Treaty of Trianon.

9.00 am: Kossuth Square
Raising the national flag of Hungary and lowering it to half-mast with the participation of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the Debrecen Garrison Band.

5.00 pm: Bem Square
Raising the National Flag and lowering it to half-mast
Commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony in front of Hungarian Sorrow, the sculpture by Émile Guillaume
Address by László Papp, Mayor of Debrecen

“One nation, one soul…”
Ceremonial commemoration featuring artists of the Csokonai National Theatre, students of Ady Endre Grammar School, dancers of the Debrecen Folk Ensemble, and members of the Youth Folk Dance Ensemble of Odorheiu Secuiesc.

The Hungarian Defence Forces and the Debrecen Garrison Band will also participate in the commemoration.
