Debrecen Ball 2026
For the twenty‑first time, the Municipality of Debrecen organized the city’s annual ball – and for the ninth time, it was held in cooperation with the University of Debrecen and the Hajdú‑Bihar County Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The evening, reflecting the city’s traditions, was opened on Saturday, 24 January 2026, at the Kölcsey Center with a dance performed by graduating high school students from Debrecen, accompanied by the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra and pianist Bence Péter. Guests were welcomed by László Papp, Mayor of Debrecen; Zoltán Szilvássy, Rector of the University of Debrecen; and Ferenc Miklóssy, President of the Hajdú‑Bihar County Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Throughout the evening, the good atmosphere was ensured by performances from the Flow Quartet, Zoltán Tordai’s band, the Vegas Show Band, singers Kati Wolf, Nikolas Takács, Viktor Király, and Viki Békefi, as well as various musical sets by DJ Mr. Vasovszki.
As in previous years, the Debrecen Ball was held in the spirit of charity. In 2026, the charitable goal was to contribute to the modernization of the lighting and heating systems of the Reformed Great Church of Debrecen.
