Debrecen-Manufactured BMW Receives Five-Star Safety Rating from Euro NCAP
Manufactured at BMW Group Plant Debrecen, the iX3 was awarded the highest possible rating of five stars in Euro NCAP’s safety assessment. The vehicle performed particularly well in post-collision scenarios, according to autopro.hu.
The iX3 achieved a score of 73 per cent in the Safety Assist category. Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) experts also assessed the model’s user interface separately, finding that safety is enhanced by the fact that the indicators, hazard warning lights, horn, headlights and gear selector are all operated using dedicated physical controls.
In terms of collision avoidance, the iX3 50 xDrive scored 83 per cent, while it achieved 86 per cent for occupant protection. The autonomous emergency braking system and lane support systems also performed well. In side-impact tests, the vehicle received the maximum score thanks to its centre airbag.
The vehicle performed exceptionally well in the post-crash safety category, achieving a score of 95 per cent. This means that, in the event of an accident, the model provides excellent protection for its driver and passengers. The integrated eCall system operated reliably, the high-voltage electrical system was successfully de-energised, and all of the door handles deployed automatically from their flush position.
