Debrecen Wine & Jazz Days offer exclusive perks for Debrecen City Card holders
This summer, from July 31 to August 2, Debrecen’s Wine and Jazz Days invites visitors to experience top Hungarian wines and jazz in Nagyerdő Park. Attendees with the Debrecen City Card receive discounted entry and complimentary tastings, ensuring exclusive festival benefits.
For the first time, all 22 Hungarian wine regions will be represented. Standout wineries from Transylvania, Upper Hungary, and Vojvodina also join. Festivalgoers can participate in masterclasses and themed tastings led by renowned winemakers. Guests enjoy a serene forest setting with exclusive access to a VIP lounge.
The musical lineup promises a rich blend of funk, swing, Latin, and modern jazz, with 40 live performances from some of Hungary’s most celebrated jazz artists, including the Debrecen Dixieland Jazz Band, Malek Andi Soulistic, and the Sárik Péter Trio with Szőke Nikoletta.
Debrecen City Card holders receive a 10% discount on day tickets and passes. Present your card on-site after purchasing tickets online to claim your discount, wristband, and tasting glass.
In addition to discounted entry, cardholders can enjoy a complimentary wine tasting on July 31 and August 1 between 4:00 and 6:00 PM at the VisitDebrecen booth. They’ll have the chance to sample one of the award-winning wines selected as part of the “Debrecen Wine of the Year 2025” program. These include a classic white from Koch Winery (Hajós-Bajai Cserszegi Fűszeres from 2024), a robust red from Thummerer Winery (Egri Cabernet Sauvignon Superior from 2021), and a refreshing rosé from Gál Vineyard ( Kunsági Rosé Cuvée from 2024). The full selection of winning wines—chosen from over 450 entries across 17 wine regions—will also be available, showcasing the richness of Hungarian terroir and wine culture.
Among the featured wines are a sparkling François President Brut from Törley, a premium Olaszrizling from Bujdosó Winery, a Bikavér from Vesztergombi, and a six-puttonyos Tokaji Aszú from Naár Family Winery. Each bottle bearing the “Debrecen Wine of the Year” label represents excellence and authenticity, offering a deeper appreciation of Hungary’s winemaking heritage.
Staff at the VisitDebrecen booth will be on hand to help guests discover their favorite wines and provide information about Debrecen’s current tourist offerings and upcoming events.
