Debrecen’s Christmas Fair has been ranked the fifth most beautiful in Europe

Debrecen has received outstanding international recognition: according to the official notification of the European Best Destinations, the city has been ranked among the top 5 Christmas fairs in Europe.

Based on the decision of the prestigious professional jury and the traveling public, Debrecen not only introduced itself in the competition but immediately rose to be among the most outstanding holiday destinations on the continent.

According to the jury’s evaluation, Debrecen has entered the festive forefront of Europe, and the Debrecen Advent ice rink won the “Europe’s Most Beautiful Christmas Skating Rink 2025” award.

It is a special success that Debrecen, with its first participation, has surpassed such international iconic cities as Vienna, Dresden, or Bruges. This result is not just a prestigious ranking: it is a confirmation of the diverse, creative, and committed work that the city’s community, partners, and professional teams have jointly invested in the continuous development of Debrecen Advent.

The official trophy of the competition will soon arrive from Belgium.

Debrecen continues to work to provide an even more colorful, even more special, and even more lovable holiday experience every year to everyone who visits the “cívis” city.

This year, more than 800,000 votes were cast for the participating cities from 179 countries.
