Door-to-door Bulky Waste Collection Available Until End of November in Debrecen
AKSD’s door-to-door bulky waste collection service remains available in Debrecen until the end of November. The service requires prior registration and is free of charge once a year, although only specified types of waste may be placed out for collection. According to the waste management company, complying with the rules is important from both an environmental and a safety perspective.
Residents of Debrecen can book appointments for door-to-door bulky waste collection according to their own schedules. Waste must be placed out by 6:00 am on the designated day in a location that can be easily accessed by collection vehicles.
A wide range of unwanted household items can be collected but AKSD staff will not remove hazardous waste, chemicals, agricultural components, or materials that must be delivered to the municipal waste collection centre.
Advance booking is also required for the waste collection centre on István Road but, as reported by users, the process is quick and straightforward.
The door-to-door bulky waste collection service can be used free of charge once a year, with AKSD vehicles operating throughout the city continuously since 16 March. “This service is particularly popular in Debrecen. Over the past two months, our colleagues have collected more than 250 tonnes of waste. On an average day, a three-person collection team handles more than eight tonnes of bulky waste,” emphasised Csilla Domokos, HR and PR Manager of AKSD.
AKSD is asking residents to place only solid household waste out for collection during bulky waste clearances, as any other type of waste is considered illegal dumping. The service will remain continuously available in Debrecen until 30 November.
