Equal opportunities was the theme of Europe Day at Fazekas Grammar School

In small groups, students could ask questions of experts and speakers involved in the field of equal opportunities.

Fazekas Mihály Grammar School in Debrecen organises Europe Day every year. In addition to community discussions, lectures, sensitisation classes, and interactive games, an EU quiz also helped students learn about the topics. As part of the programmes, young people also met with local public figures on May 28, 2025.

“I think that we can only do it together to ensure that equal opportunities and care are at a high level in Debrecen. To do this, we need to start educating children when they are in secondary school and tell them that there are people who have to deal with difficulties every day,” Deputy Mayor Diána Széles emphasised at the event.

Several hundred students of the institution were involved in the Europe Day programmes.
