Families and friends are warmly invited to welcome the arrival of spring at a joyful community afternoon in Újkert on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 3.45 pm to 7.45 pm. The event will take place at the Újkert Sledge Hill, beside the Maltese Playground on Lehel Street, offering a lively and friendly setting for all generations to gather and celebrate together.

The stage programme promises delightful entertainment throughout the afternoon. Audiences can enjoy a charming selection of Women’s Day operettas and chansons performed by artists of the Csokonai National Theatre, followed by an engaging therapy dog demonstration that is sure to captivate animal lovers of all ages. Children will be thrilled by a concert from Tibi Réti, bringing music, fun and plenty of opportunities to sing along. The festivities will continue with surprise guest performers, who will round off the day with an unforgettable musical atmosphere—further details to be announced soon.

Alongside the stage performances, a wide range of accompanying activities will ensure there is something for everyone. Creative sessions hosted by Természettár, craft workshops, an Origami Club, face painting and glitter tattoos will keep little hands busy. Students from Saint Basil Secondary School will offer massage and hair-braiding, adding an extra touch of relaxation and style.

Visitors can also browse the bazaar and fair, featuring minerals, beaded jewellery, crocheted goods, honey and apitherapy products, handmade treats and playful market stalls.

The event is free of charge. Everyone is encouraged to come along with family and friends to celebrate spring together in Újkert.
