Exhibition of Painter János Maksai opens in Simonffy Street Youth Centre

Simonffy u 21. Debrecen

Exhibition entitled "I'll tell you in the language of painting" is opening at the Simonffy Street Youth Centre on the 4th of  March at 4.30 p.m. The exhibition will be opened by Managing Director of DEMKI János D. Halász, and President of the Association for the Great Forest of Debrecen Ibolya Marincsák with the contribution of  Napsugár Bartha. For János Maksai, love is the key word. He feels comfortable in the world and does what he loves: painting. For the painter from Debrecen, creating is the most natural part of life. His life is usually predictable: he gets up in the morning and goes to paint... And for recreation he sometimes does gardening and is active around the house.  He has been painting for more than fifty years, and in that time he has put thousands of paintings on canvas. Some of them are quite small, but some are 150x320 cm, which he assembled from three pieces, because otherwise they would not have fit into the painter's studio. As the gallery is also an event hall, the organisers ask visitors to get informed about the exhibition visiting hours at phone number 06-52/415-498.   Date: 4-27 March Location: Simonffy Street Youth […]

There are fewer and fewer of these places and are being squeezed out year by year by new investments, and there is a real risk that the landscape we have known until now will disappear. Barbara Hubert was born in Rzeszów and attended the School of Fine Arts. She completed her higher education in the painting department at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, studying under professors Stanisław Rodziński and Leszek Misiak. MODEM's latest exhibition titled "The Image of Colour, the Mystery of Image" opens on the 9th of February. The exhibition presents a comprehensive selection of monochrome paintings from the Antal–Lusztig collection, which is one of the most important private collections in Hungary. The owner of the collection, which includes hundreds of domestic and international works, dr. Péter Antal started buying monochrome paintings in the mid-2000s, which have since formed an important segment of his collection. In the past decades, we have seen a small or large selection of monochrome works at numerous domestic and foreign exhibitions. Among other things, the importance of these exhibitions is given by the fact that, thanks to this exceptional collector's commitment, the spirit and heritage of monochrome painting lives on not only in individual works of art, along the lines of consistent creative endeavours, but also emerges from time to time in the public discourse on the occasion of exhibitions selected from the Antal–Lusztig collection. This time, a selection exhibition from the monochrome segment of the Antal–Lusztig collection, organised into 7+1 separate units, guides the visitor. Through the research of monochrome painters, it guides you through concepts of painting that are thought to be obvious, […]
