Face Mask Rules Eased at Debrecen’s Clinical Centre
Starting 21, April wearing a mask covering the nose and mouth is no longer mandatory at the University of Debrecen’s Clinical Centre on its Great Forest, Gyula Kenézy and Count István Tisza (Berettyóújfalu) campuses, with the exception of intensive care and sub-intensive wards. The rules have been relaxed because the number of people seeking medical attention with respiratory complaints has been steadily declining, the university announced.
In recent weeks, the number of patients diagnosed with respiratory infections, as well as those presenting with severe acute respiratory infection (SARI), has continuously decreased. According to the weekly respiratory surveillance report issued by the National Public Health and Pharmacy Centre, there is no increased community spread of respiratory viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, influenza or RSV.
Based on these developments, the regulations on mandatory mask use at the University of Debrecen’s Clinical Centre were eased from Tuesday, 21 April.
