Families in Tócóskert Got Into the Holiday Spirit Together

An Advent afternoon was held in Tócóskert on December 19, 2025.

This was the sixth time the Christmas event was organized, giving residents of the housing estate an opportunity to tune into the festive season together.

A large crowd gathered in the heart of the neighborhood on Friday. The family program began with a performance by the local kindergarten children on the event square at Angyalföld Square. In addition to musical performances, craft activities awaited the little ones.

Alongside the district’s municipal representatives — András Varga and János Sánta — Deputy Mayor Diána Széles also greeted those in attendance. According to the deputy mayor, events like this, held across the city, are important because their main purpose is to help communities connect with one another.

“Through DEMKI alone, we organized 65 Christmas events, and together with civil organizations there is practically a Christmas or Advent program every single day. With this, we want the people of Debrecen to truly feel that this is a caring city where we pay attention to one another,” she said.
