First Graduation Ceremony Held at BMW Group Plant Debrecen
The first graduating class of BMW Group Plant Debrecen’s dual vocational training programme has celebrated its graduation, the company announced on its Facebook page. The automotive manufacturer is offering employment opportunities to the 100 students who joined the programme in 2023.
During this academic year, the graduating students spent most of their time in the plant’s manufacturing technology departments, where they deepened their practical knowledge and gained direct experience in the application of Industry 4.0 technologies, robotics, 3D printing, and virtual and augmented reality.
As reported reviously, further 100 students will join BMW Group Plant Debrecen’s dual vocational training programme this autumn, following the completion of this year’s selection process. An integral part of the programme is the Talent Factory initiative, which aims to help students develop their talents by working on their own projects under the guidance of their instructors, developing practical tools and solutions for the plant.
The company has previously stated that the Debrecen plant’s dual vocational training programme uniquely combines modern educational infrastructure, a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment and the BMW Group’s nearly 100 years of training experience. Participants not only gain professional expertise but also acquire communication, presentation and project management skills, while becoming familiar with the core values of teamwork and corporate culture.
BMW organises the vocational training programme jointly with the Debrecen Vocational Training Centre. Students from the Brassai, Beregszászi and Mechwart technical colleges take part in the programme.
According to a joint report by HR Portal and the company information service Opten, the number of employees at the BMW plant in Debrecen has increased to 4,624, while recruitment efforts continue. According to BMW’s careers website, applications are currently accepted for 43 positions at the Debrecen facility. The company is also recruiting for its soon-to-be-launched third, night-shift operation.
