Former students of the University of Debrecen can also apply for the UniPass card

Starting this summer, UniPass will be available to all former students and employees of the institution. The card creates an opportunity for alumni members to become active participants in the life of the University of Debrecen (UD), not only at meetings or at the level of memories, but also in everyday life.

With the UniPass Alumni card, the institution also expresses that former students and employees continue to be valued members of the university community. The aim of the initiative is to strengthen relationships—be they friendships, professional ties, or loyalty to the Alma Mater. Following UniPass, the Unipass Alumni card was born along this approach, which provides an entry point into the world of shared experiences, events, and services and contributes to the development of a strong, cohesive alumni community.

Chancellor Zoltán Bács told hirek.unideb.hu that they have been working on creating the Alumni card for years so that former graduates and employees do not distance themselves from the institution.

“The University of Debrecen considers it an important mission to ensure that not only current students but also former graduates have a living connection with the institution, which, as a true Alma Mater, forges Debrecen students into a large community. With the help of the UniPass Alumni card, the services and benefits of university citizenship become available to former students as well,” he emphasized.

The active connection is supported by the fact that those who apply for the card become members of the university Alumni Community, so they can be continuously informed about news, programs, and events that affect them.

Center manager Mónika Rőfi informed that anyone who was previously a student or employee of the University of Debrecen can apply for the card, regardless of year, faculty, or current status. The first step to this is to join the Alumni Community on the alumni.unideb.hu website. To apply, you can upload a photo of your ID card at the alumni.unipass.hulink, and the completed UniPass can be collected in person at the Event Coordination and Alumni Center (Debrecen, 1 Egyetem Square, Main Building, ground floor, office 17), or it can be requested by mail delivery.”

On September 20, registration and application for a card in person will also be possible at the Alumni Festival.

The UniPass also facilitates participation in various alumni events, simplifying entry and registration, and is also suitable for verifying identity on the university grounds, provides free entry to the Botanical Garden, facilitates library use as a reader’s card, provides discounted parking and access to institutional areas, and provides shopping discounts at various places at various partners. The card costs HUF 5,000 and is valid for five years.
