Sensirion Hungary Ltd. was also present among the exhibitors at the event organized by the Faculty of Technology of the University of Debrecen in the Lovarda.

Quality Assurance Manager of Sensirion Hungary Ltd., Balázs Turzó said that this is not the first time that they participate in the annual “Industry Day” event, but this year the Debrecen subsidiary of the Swiss company has aroused a particularly great interest among students and young engineers interested in technical careers.

“Many people have heard of us,” Balázs Turzó added, “but few know exactly what we do, so this is a great opportunity to introduce ourselves.”

“The respiratory teddy bear, which demonstrates the operation of medical sensors in a playful way, attracted a lot of people,” Head of Process Engineering at Sensirion Ákos Varjas stressed. This demonstration always appeals not only to students but also to experienced professionals, because it uses a real-life example to model the operation of one of the most important applications of our sensors: ventilators in healthcare.

The Swiss company’s aim was not only to recruit, but also to introduce not only students but also younger generations to their activities and the potential applications of sensor technology.

Maintenance Engineer of the company, Levente Nagy pointed out that in addition to Hungarian and foreign students, a good number of vocational high school students were also interested.  A surprisingly large number of young people came to enquire about the summer internship opportunities. It’s good to see that they are serious about their career choice at such an early age.

Sensirion’s investment in Hungary has fulfilled all our hopes, Sensirion Hungary Ltd. is a real success story! Since its opening in 2021, the Swiss company’s subsidiary in Debrecen has developed on such a scale in recent years that last year it was decided to expand the headquarters in Stäfa. Accordingly, the new high-tech production hall and logistics centre in the Debrecen Regional and Innovation Science Technology Park was completed this year and will be opened soon. The active presence of the Swiss subsidiary at this trade fair is further proof of how, as a player in the high-tech industry, it can also inspire the next generation of engineers.
