Humanoid robot arrived at the Tourinform Office in Debrecen
On the occasion of World Tourism Day an unusual sight also caught the attention of passers-by. According to Enikő Tóth-Megyesi, the tourism director of the Főnix Event Organizer, this was exactly the goal: to bring innovation and future opportunities closer to people.
In the 21st century, the integration of technology and human values can be the next step, a path towards sustainable development and experience-based travel.
One symbol of the encounter could be the new-generation humanoid robot, which interested parties could meet as a special guest on World Tourism Day at the Tourinform Debrecen Office, organized by VisitDebrecen.
The office staff wanted to bring this experience closer to visitors, thereby giving them an insight into the possibilities of the future. This is a good opportunity to get to know the technology and personally experience what a humanoid robot is like up close.
“In the future, he could even be used as a tour guide during a special tour. He could be a great interpreter and help with languages, and we could also involve him in other activities,” said Enikő Tóth-Megyesi, tourism director of Főnix Event Organizer Nonprofit Kft.
Hungary’s only humanoid robot proved this. When he was asked about his name, he replied it was Benben and then politely asked how he could assist. On request he waved, but he often extended his arm to shake hands.
