International Workshop on New Trends Held at Faculty of Informatics in Debrecen

The current challenges and future directions of modern IT systems and networking technologies were the focus of the ISNODA 2026 international workshop held at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen. The event provided a comprehensive overview of how artificial intelligence, data-driven operations and intelligent networking systems are interconnected in the development of digital infrastructures.

The aim of ISNODA (Informatics System & Networks for Orchestration of Distributed Analytics) is to promote knowledge sharing and professional cooperation in the rapidly evolving fields of information technology. The event offered students, researchers and industry professionals insights into the latest directions in digitalisation, as well as into the operation of the intelligent distributed systems of the future.

Márton Ispány, Vice Dean for Education at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen, highlighted that cooperation with corporate partners and other universities is of outstanding importance for the institution, directly contributing to the advancement of both education and research. “The Faculty of Informatics at the University of Debrecen is delighted to host professional events that strengthen the relationship between the university community, corporate partners and other institutions, while also promoting the development of both educational and scientific work,” he stated.

Zoltán Gál, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Networks at the Faculty of Informatics, stressed that the workshop focused on artificial intelligence-related challenges that are becoming increasingly decisive in the operation of networking technologies and distributed systems. As he explained, modern networks require flexible, rapidly adapting algorithms capable of responding to changing workloads and new user demands.

Artificial intelligence can play a key role in this process, as it can make network services more efficient and adaptive.

Experts from EPAM, Morgan Stanley, Nokia, Cisco Systems, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and the University of Debrecen took part in the workshop. Representatives from various industrial and academic sectors shared their latest research findings, practical experiences and innovative solutions.

The programme covered, among other topics, autonomous decision-making systems operating in cloud-based environments, event-driven and scalable data-processing architectures, applications of network and sensor systems, security issues related to artificial intelligence, improving software development efficiency, and opportunities in real-time data analysis and anomaly detection.
